Kite Surfing

Kitesurfing at Bloubergstrand near Cape Town becomes increasingly popular every year, attracting professionals and enthusiasts from countries such as Germany, the Netherlands and the United States, to name just a few of the most devoted. Anyone wishing to take up this high-adrenalin activity will easily find an instructor in the Bloubergstrand area and get the hang of it within three or four lessons.

Bloubergstrand is an exposed beach break that has fairly consistent surf and can work at any time of the year. Works best in offshore winds from the northeast and there is no shelter here from cross shore breezes. Tends to receive distant groundswells and the ideal swell angle is from the southwest. Waves at the beach are both lefts and rights.

For avent cyclist, there are multiple on- and off road cycling tracks to make use of. A recent addition, is a dedicated cycling lane that was built between Blouberg Beach and Melkbosstrand. This 8km route is ideal for a relaxing and safe ride out.
